We are currently seeking an Audit Manager to join Peterson Company Ltd in Waconia. Peterson Company Ltd is a full service CPA firm that offers a fun work culture and excellent growth opportunities. The firm offers a four day work week in the summer months.

The Audit Manager, under minimal supervision, performs a variety of professional auditing work. The primary responsibility of this role is auditing small government entities and nonprofit organizations.

Key responsibilities include:

· Preparing and reviewing workpapers in conformity with standards.

· Communicating with clients on-site and off-site to obtain accurate information and relevant supporting documentation to support workpaper conclusions.

· Delegating or assuming in-charge responsibility.

· Projecting and planning the timing of the workload to promote the most efficient operation of the staff.

· Mentoring and leading staff, demonstrating ability to manage client relationships.

· Marketing Firm services to existing and prospective clients.

Ideal candidate has:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting and be licensed as a CPA

· 6+ years of audit experience (government and/or nonprofit preferred)

· Possess and apply sound technical and operational knowledge in the practice area.

· Knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, GASB regulations, various software applications, and pertinent federal and state regulations.

· Strong computer skills and Microsoft Excel skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Experience with ProSystem Engagement is a plus

Pay: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year

We are looking for a senior accountant to join Peterson Company Ltd a CPA firm in Waconia. This position provides variety with your time split between tax preparation services, business consulting and audit services. This position will give you the opportunity to work directly with clients and manage projects. Opportunity for future advancement exists.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

• Preparing or reviewing business tax returns (1120S, 1065, 1120 and 990)
• Preparing or reviewing individual tax returns.
• Provide business consulting services for mergers and acquisitions
• Prepare or review tax projections
• Preparing or reviewing sales tax returns.
• Audit small government and nonprofit entities.
• Assist clients with QuickBooks training and answering general QuickBooks questions.
• Provide business consulting services for mergers and acquisitions
• Provide outsourced controller and CFO services

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of public accounting experience
• Tax or Audit experience
• CPA preferred
• QuickBooks experience preferred
• CCH Axcess and Prosystem Engagement experience is a plus!

Our firm offers a reduced 4 day work week in the summer and flexibility with hours. We offer competitive pay and benefits. • Managing tax clients affiliated with businesses that need audits or reviews
• Review audits prepared by staff
• Review tax returns prepared by staff
• Training and mentoring staff
• Provide outsourced controller and CFO services to businesses
• Actively promote the firm to bring in new clients

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of public accounting
• 5+ years of audit experience
• 3+ years of tax experience preferred (not required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Experience using CCH Axcess is preferred
• Experience using ProSystem Engagement is a plus
• Strong knowledge and skills in using QuickBooks
• Good communication skills
